TUDIAS English-Language Preparatory College
The state-recognized TUDIAS Preparatory College ("Studienkolleg") serves to prepare international applicants for their studies in terms of subject and language. The program is explicitly aimed at applicants who do not yet have the necessary preconditions to be accepted to German university. The most important preconditions include sufficient knowledge of English and a qualifying school or university degree. The Preparatory College intensively prepares international applicants whose high school diploma is not sufficient to be accepted for university studies in Germany. The program lasts a total of two semesters. Participants then take an internal assessment test to obtain their university entrance qualification, the so-called FSP.
The assessment test is taken after successful participation in the TUDIAS English-Language Preparatory College at the end of the second semester.
Preparation for the assessment test takes place in the T-course for technical, mathematical, and natural science studies in English-taught Bachelor's programmes.
Classes at the English-Language Preparatory College are held in English. The FSP final exam is also in English.
Admission requirements for the TUDIAS English-Language Preparatory College
Application to the English-Language Preparatory College is part of the application for a study place at a Saxon college or university and requires a conditional acceptance from that institution. Most colleges and universities use the central application portal http://www.uni-assist.de/. Basic information on the admission requirements for a Preparatory College can be found here.
When applying via uni-assist, you must provide evidence of German language skills at level A2 (CEFR) with a corresponding certificate and evidence of English language skills at level B2.
It is not possible to apply directly to the English-Language Preparatory College. After a positive evaluation of the application, the colleges or universities will issue a pre-registration or conditional admission letter. One of the two documents forms the basis for admission to the English-Language Preparatory College.
Participation in the focus course T also requires mathematical subject knowledge. The necessary knowledge of English and mathematics is tested in an entrance test.
Admission to the English-Language Preparatory College depends on the number of places available and the result of the entrance test. There is no entitlement to admission to the English-Language Preparatory College.
Dates and Duration of the TUDIAS English-Language Preparatory College
Prospective international students can apply for the English-Language Preparatory College at any time. The course lasts two semesters and includes 32 hours of instruction per week. Below you will find an overview of the periods offered in the summer and winter semesters:

After successful admission to the TUDIAS English-Language Preparatory College, you will sign a course agreement. The agreement contains the payment deadlines and all information about the payment options.
The payment of the course fee is made either as a lump sum or in several monthly instalments.
