Training goal
Exam B1 corresponds to the level of the entrance test for the intermediate and advanced courses (B2-C1) at TUDIAS and for the Preparatory College.

Training content
In the preliminary course German A1-B1 a basic training in the German language takes place. Basic grammar and vocabulary are taught. Language skills such as speaking, listening, reading and writing are developed.

Target group
All international students with no or very little knowledge of German. The course is especially suitable for international applicants who would like to take the DSH, TestDaF or Feststellungsprüfung later on.

Notes
The winter / summer semester includes 2 weeks of vacation. It is possible to join the current course by arrangement if you have the appropriate prior knowledge.

The elementary course A2 provides basic training in the German language. Basic grammar and vocabulary are taught. Language skills such as speaking, listening, reading and writing are developed.

Target group
All international students with knowledge of German on level A1.

Requirements
Proof of an A1 certificate required. If no A1 certificate is available, a placement test will be carried out.

Training content
In the intermediate level B1 course, building on the elementary level A2, the German language is deepened. Basic grammar and vocabulary are expanded along with reading and listening skills. You will also learn to communicate in everyday situations, orally and in writing.

At the end of the course you can take a B1 exam and receive a B1 certificate.

Target group
All international students with A2 level knowledge. This course is for all interested students who want to apply for the preparatory semester at the TU Dresden (Propädeutikum) or for the Studienkolleg TUDIAS with a B1 certificate.

Preconditions
Proof of an A2 certificate is required. If no A2 certificate is available, a placement test at level A2 will be conducted.

Training content
In the preliminary course German A2-B1.2 a basic training in the German language takes place. Grammar and vocabulary are consolidated and expanded. The skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing are developed.

Building on the knowledge of basic grammar, and after successfully passing the B1 exam, you will learn intermediate grammar and expand your vocabulary knowledge. You will train your reading and listening comprehension, as well as your speaking and writing skills.

Target group
All international students with previous knowledge of the German language. The course is particularly suitable for international applicants who later wish to take the DSH, TestDaF or Feststellungsprüfung.

Building on the consolidation of basic grammar and vocabulary, you will learn intermediate level grammar (beginning B2) and expand your vocabulary. You will practise your reading and listening comprehension as well as your speaking and writing skills.

All international students with previous knowledge of German at level B1. The course is particularly suitable for international applicants who wish to take the DSH, the TestDaF or the Feststellungsprüfung.

Preconditions
B1 completed. It is possible to join the current course by prior arrangement if you have the relevant previous knowledge.

Corresponds to A2 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Training content
Building on the basic A1 level, students learn to express themselves clearly in everyday situations and to read and understand simple texts. Simple grammatical structures are taught and applied in thematic contexts.

Target group
All interested students with previous knowledge at level A1 (at least 80 lessons).

Training content
Building on the basic A1 level, students learn to express themselves clearly in everyday situations and to read and understand simple texts. Simple grammatical structures are taught and applied in thematic contexts.

Target group
All interested students with previous knowledge at level A1 (at least 100 lessons).

Ausbildungsziel
Verstehen von Lese- und Hörtexten zu vertrauten Themen, normale Gespräche im privaten und beruflichen Bereich möglich.

Ausbildungsinhalt
Konversationsorientierte Beschäftigung mit Hör- und Lesetexten, Satzbaustrukturen, Präpositionen in festen Verbindungen, Nominalisierungen, Attribute.
