Course Content
This intensive course covers the German language proficiency levels A1, A2, and B1. Each level comprises 175 instructional units. The course provides foundational training in the German language, focusing on essential grammar and core vocabulary. Key language skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—are systematically developed throughout the program.

Target Group
This course is intended for international participants with no or very limited prior knowledge of German. It is particularly suitable for prospective international students who plan to apply for the Studienkolleg or the preparatory course (Propädeutikum) at TU Dresden and require a B1-level German language certificate.

Additional Information
The course includes a two-week break during both the winter and summer semesters. Entry into an ongoing course may be possible upon consultation and demonstration of prior knowledge.

Notes
The winter / summer semester includes 2 weeks of vacation. It is possible to join the current course by arrangement if you have the appropriate prior knowledge.

 

Course Content

Language skills such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing are further developed and improved.

Target Group
All international applicants with A1-level German proficiency. The course is especially suitable for international students who later wish to apply to the Studienkolleg or preparatory course (Propädeutikum) at TU Dresden and need a B1 German certificate.

Notes

Course Content
Building on the consolidation of basic grammar and vocabulary, this course teaches intermediate-level grammar and expands vocabulary. Reading and listening comprehension, as well as speaking and writing skills, are further developed. In the C1.1 course module, exam preparation is included, tailored to the specific exam format the participants plan to take.

Target Group
All international applicants who have completed level B1. The course is particularly suitable for those who wish to prepare for a C1-level German language exam.

Completed B1 level and a placement test

The A2 Elementary German course provides structured language training, building upon basic German proficiency. Participants will enhance their grammar knowledge and expand their vocabulary while developing essential skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Target group
This course is designed for international learners with prior German knowledge at the A1 level.

Precondtions
A valid A1 certificate is required for enrollment. If no certificate is available, a placement test will be administered to assess language proficiency.

Requirements
The course will start with a minimum of 12 participants.

Training content
In the intermediate level B1 course, building on the elementary level A2, the German language is deepened. Basic grammar and vocabulary are expanded along with reading and listening skills. You will also learn to communicate in everyday situations, orally and in writing.

At the end of the course you can take a B1 exam and receive a B1 certificate.

Target group
All international students with A2 level knowledge. This course is for all interested students who want to apply for the preparatory semester at the TU Dresden (Propädeutikum) or for the Studienkolleg TUDIAS with a B1 certificate.

Preconditions
Proof of an A2 certificate is required. If no A2 certificate is available, a placement test at level A2 will be conducted.

Course Content
Building on the consolidation of intermediate-level grammar and vocabulary, this course teaches the key skills required for C1 level. It includes exam preparation for the test formats DSH, TestDaF, and telc C1 University.

Participants have the opportunity to take the telc German C1 University exam at the TUDIAS test center. The exam fee is €200, and separate registration is required.

Target Group
All international students who have completed B2 level. The course is especially suitable for international applicants who wish to apply to TU Dresden.

Requirements
B2 level with proof. If no language certificate is provided, a placement test will be administered.
The course will start with a minimum of 12 participants.

Training goal
Corresponds to B1 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Training content
Building on the basic A2 level, you will learn to communicate in everyday situations, orally and in writing. You will deepen your vocabulary and grammar.

Target group
All interested students with previous knowledge at level A2.

Training goal
Understanding of reading and listening texts on familiar topics, normal conversations in private and professional life possible.

Training content
Conversation-oriented study of listening and reading texts, sentence structure, prepositions in fixed compounds, nominalizations, attributes.

Target group
All interested students with previous knowledge of level B1.
