Goal and projects of the
STEM College

The STEM College pursues the goal of facilitating the transition from school to university. With our offer, we support students and first-year students in the STEM sector (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) on their road to academic success. They attend seminars on study orientation, learning organization, and basic subject-related skills.

The sub-projects include:

STEM College
Engineering preparation course (preparation for university studies) summer course of several weeks Tudias MINT-Kolleg
Repetitions (preparation for university studies) weekly course
Propaedeutics (university study preparation and re-entry) in the summer semester Tudias MINT-Kolleg

Preparatory course in engineering

The preparatory course in engineering is offered in cooperation with the TU Dresden and has registered more than 1100 graduates since the start of the project in 2007. The course aims to make it easier for first-year students to start studying engineering. Experienced lecturers and tutors introduce participants to scientific thinking and problem-solving strategies in the STEM subjects. Participation in the course is independent of enrollment at the TU Dresden.

Repetitories

The STEM College's revision courses are self-study continuing education measures that accompany students' studies. We support students from engineering disciplines to deepen their knowledge and to prepare for exams.

Propaedeutic

The Propaedeutic accompanies the re-entry into engineering studies. Participants prepare for repeat exams, work on basic concepts, and take advantage of orientation offers for engineering courses.

The Propaedeutic is currently being set up and is therefore not yet available for booking.
